First Steps to Freedom

What if things don't have to stay the way they are?

A gentle, supported six-month journey to help you understand your energy differently, begin making small, meaningful changes — and discover what may become possible for you.

Set the foundations for lasting change.

If you're living with low, unreliable energy

You’ll know how much it shapes your life.

Not just what you can do, but how much you second-guess, hold back, and plan around it.

You might look like you’re coping from the outside, but inside, it feels very different.

Perhaps...

  • You're functioning — but everything feels like a constant effort

  • You cancel plans or hold back because you don't quite trust what your energy will allow

  • You've tried all sorts of different approaches, but nothing has really changed

  • You've gradually made your life smaller in an attempt to manage the energy you have

And somewhere underneath it all...

you're wondering whether life really has to stay this way.

From restriction to possibility

When your energy has been unreliable for a long time, it's easy to find yourself:

Second-guessing every plan

Feeling restricted and cautious

Doing → crashing → holding back

Wondering whether this is “just how life is now”

First Steps to Freedom is about beginning to turn that dial.

Not towards perfect energy.

But towards...

  • Understanding your energy rather than continually trying to manage around it

  • Beginning to trust yourself and the choices you make

  • Having more confidence to make plans

  • Putting your own needs into the equation

  • Noticing that small changes really can make a difference

  • Having more energy available for the life you want to live

And perhaps, somewhere along the way, noticing yourself think:

“Something is changing.”

Because that's when...

“Perhaps things don't have to stay the way they are”

can begin to become...

“Perhaps I can do something about this.”

When you're doing your best to cope with energy...

You find ways to cope.

Of course you do.

Perhaps you've become really careful about how much you do.

Perhaps you've gradually cut things out because you're worried about how you'll feel afterwards.

Perhaps you make the most of a better day — only to find yourself paying for it later.

Or perhaps you're still searching for the thing that will finally explain what you're missing.

None of those responses is wrong.

They make sense when your energy has become something you can't rely on.

But sometimes, without realising it, life can gradually become more and more about managing your fatigue...

and less and less about living your life.

First Steps to Freedom invites us to begin looking at things a little differently.

Not:

“What else should I stop doing?”

But:

“What might help me understand and support my energy differently?”

What if you don't need to try harder?

Most women who arrive here have already tried incredibly hard.

You've probably read.

Researched.

Experimented.

Rested.

Pushed.

Stopped pushing.

Tried to get it right.

So First Steps to Freedom isn't about giving you another long list of things you “should” be doing.

What's often missing isn't effort, discipline or more information.

It's the opportunity to understand your energy differently.

To begin noticing the patterns that influence it.

To understand yourself with a little more compassion.

To explore what genuinely supports you.

And then to make small, realistic changes that fit into your life.

Not because I tell you they're the “right” things to do.

But because you begin discovering what makes a difference for you.

That's where we begin.

Introducing..

First Steps to Freedom

A gentle, supported six-month group journey.

Over six months, we'll begin exploring your energy — and yourself — differently.

You'll have space to understand what's happening.

To notice the patterns that may be influencing your energy.

To experiment with small, realistic changes.

And to discover, through your own experience, what begins to make a difference.

We're not trying to change everything.

We're creating the foundations from which change can grow.

Take a tour...

Preparing YourSELF

SELF Love

Asserting YourSELF
Begin putting what you've discovered into practice — including boundaries, choices and what comes next.

How the journey works

We'll move through First Steps to Freedom gently, with around two weeks around each main part of the programme.

That gives you time not simply to learn something...

but to experience it.

Learn

You'll receive short, easy-to-follow teaching videos alongside guided SELF Discovery activities to help you connect what you're learning with your own life.

Live with it

You'll have time to take what you're discovering into everyday life.

There isn't a long list of homework to complete.

Sometimes it might simply be one small thing you'd like to try — or something about yourself you'd like to notice.

Notice

What happened?

What felt different?

What helped?

What got in the way?

What did you notice about your energy — or yourself?

Explore

We'll come back together for a live group coaching conversation.

This is your space to ask questions, explore what you've noticed, share what's coming up for you and receive gentle, personalised support.

Then, when we're ready...

we move on to the next piece.

Learn → Live with it → Notice → Explore → Next step

One piece at a time.

A little space to connect in between

Living with chronic fatigue can be surprisingly lonely.

Even when you have people around you who love you, it can be difficult to explain what it's like to constantly calculate, anticipate, reconsider and make decisions around your energy.

And sometimes we don't say very much about it at all.

Between our main coaching conversations, you'll therefore also be invited to an optional 30-minute Connection Space.

There is no new teaching.

Nothing to prepare.

And nothing to catch up on if you can't make it.

It's simply somewhere to come as you are.

Bring a question.

Share something you've noticed.

Celebrate something that went well.

Talk about something you're finding difficult.

Or simply listen.

Sometimes another woman will put into words something you've been experiencing quietly for years.

And suddenly you realise:

“Oh... it's not just me.”

There is no pressure to share.

There is simply space to connect.

Support along the way

You'll also have some simple tools to help you understand where you're starting from — and notice what changes along the way.

 Your Personal Energy Map

Early in the programme, we'll look at where your time and energy are currently going.

It can help you begin noticing what may be draining you, what's supporting you and where one small, realistic change might make a difference.

Guided Support for Calm & Rest

You'll have a small collection of guided practices you can return to whenever they'd feel helpful — particularly when you'd like support slowing things down and creating a little more space for rest.

Noticing Your Progress

We'll pause at different points throughout the six months to notice what's changing.

We'll look at both:

what you're able to do and how life feels.

We'll use simple measures alongside reflective tools to help us see changes that can be surprisingly easy to overlook when you're living them day by day.

These aren't tests to pass.

They're simply another way of helping you recognise:

“Something is changing.”

What can change begin to look like?

When you've been living with fatigue for a long time, it can be difficult to imagine things feeling different.

And change doesn't look exactly the same for everyone.

Sometimes it's having more energy.

Sometimes it's putting a boundary in place.

Sometimes it's recognising a pattern, making a different choice, or beginning to trust yourself again.

So rather than me telling you what change can look like, I'd like you to hear from some of the women I've supported.

Giving myself permission

- Felicity

“Suzanne gently reminded me to ‘be kind to yourself’—and showed me how. I’ve realised I’m entitled to

time for me, without guilt. I trust her

completely because she genuinely cares and helps you find the way forward.”

Noticing What drains my energy

- Rachel

“Working with Suzanne gave me a whole new perspective. I began to notice what drained my energy, and for the first time, I felt permission to rest. She helped me

reframe my thoughts, spot patterns, and imagine a future I’m excited about. If you’re struggling with fatigue, I’d absolutely recommend this.”

Putting myself back into my life

- Janet

“I’ve gone from asking ‘can I even shower today?’ to making choices about what’s most important. Suzanne’s calm, gentle way helps you find your own answers without pressure. Her strategies have stayed with me—I’ve returned to work, learned to set limits, and no longer feel guilty for putting myself first.”

Small changes really do add up

- Rebecca

“My whole mindset has shifted. I used to push through with imposter syndrome, overdoing everything until I crashed. Suzanne helped me see that small changes add up and don’t need to be overwhelming. Now I take life step by step instead of feeling anxious about the future. It’s been transformative.”

Their journeys are all different.

Yours will be too.

First Steps to Freedom isn't about following somebody else's path.

It's about having the support, space and encouragement to begin discovering what makes a difference for you.

Still have some questions?

Arrange a short call to meet, chat and explore.

A fair way to begin

I want you to feel comfortable and confident in your decision to join.

If you begin the programme and realise within the first month that it’s not the right fit for you, simply let me know and you’ll receive a full refund — no questions, no pressure.

After the first month, if you choose not to continue, any refunds will be pro-rated based on how long you’ve been in the programme.

If you’re paying by instalments, you can simply cancel your remaining payments at that point.

This is designed to be fair, straightforward, and to give you the space to experience the programme for yourself — without pressure.

Is First Steps to Freedom right for you?

This journey may feel right for you if...

  • you're ready to move beyond simply understanding your fatigue and begin making gentle, meaningful changes

  • you're open to exploring your energy — and yourself — a little differently

  • you'd value structure, support and encouragement without pressure to change everything at once

  • you have enough capacity to engage gently with the teaching, SELF Discovery and coaching conversations across each two-week period

  • you'd value being alongside a small group of women who understand something of what living with unreliable energy can feel like

  • you're curious about what's possible and ready to give the process a genuine try.

It may not be a right fit if...

You're looking for a quick fix or someone else to “solve” your fatigue for you.

Or if your energy is currently so limited that engaging with approximately two hours of self-paced learning and reflection plus a one-hour Zoom conversation across each two-week period would feel unmanageable.

That doesn't mean there isn't a way forward.

It simply means this particular group journey may not be the right support for you right now.

If you're unsure, you're very welcome to talk it through with me.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I have a bad couple of weeks and fall behind?

First Steps to Freedom has been designed with fluctuating energy in mind. That's one of the reasons we move gently, with around two weeks around each main part of the programme.

Across those two weeks, allow approximately three hours:

1 hour for the online teaching — usually broken into 3–5 short videos that you can watch whenever works best for you.

1 hour for your SELF Discovery activities — you decide when to do these and how you'd like to divide the time.

1 hour for our live coaching conversation — come for as long as feels manageable for your energy. Each conversation is recorded, so if you need to leave early or can't attend, you can catch up afterwards.

And if life or your energy gets in the way for a while, that's okay. You don't have to do everything perfectly to benefit from the programme.

The optional Connection Spaces don't contain new programme teaching, so there's nothing to “catch up” on if you miss one.

Do I have to attend every Connection Space?

No, not at all.

Connection Spaces are completely optional. They're simply an opportunity to get to know the other women in the group, share wins and insights, talk about anything you're finding challenging — or just come along and listen.

You're free to dip in and out as feels right for you.

What if I can't attend a main Coaching Conversation?

Each main coaching conversation will be recorded and made available within 24 hours.

So if you can't be there live — or your energy means you need to leave early — you'll be able to watch the conversation in your own time.

Is this just mindset work?

No.

First Steps to Freedom explores the physical, emotional and mental aspects of living with fatigue — and how these can interact with one another.

So while we will explore thoughts, beliefs and patterns, this isn't about telling yourself to think differently or “be more positive”.

It's about understanding your own experience more fully and exploring practical ways to support yourself in everyday life.

What if I’ve tried lots of different approaches?

Many women arrive at First Steps to Freedom having already tried a lot.

This isn't about giving you another list of things to do or another quick fix to try.

Instead, we'll slow things down and begin exploring your energy, your patterns and your life — so you can start noticing what genuinely supports you and where small, realistic changes might make a difference.

You don't need to arrive believing this will work.

Curiosity is enough to begin.

What if I'm not comfortable sharing in a group?

That's absolutely okay.

Being with new people can feel uncomfortable at first, particularly when you're talking about things that feel personal.

You're very welcome to come along, be part of the group and simply listen.

You don't have to speak, answer questions or share anything you're not comfortable sharing.

Over time, you may find you'd like to contribute more.

Or you may not.

Either is okay.

What happens at the end of six months?

That depends on what feels right for you.

Some women may feel they've got what they need from First Steps to Freedom and are ready to continue using what they've discovered for themselves.

Others may want some time and space to let everything they've learned and experienced settle.

And some may decide they'd like to continue exploring with further support.

As we approach the end of our six months together, we'll take time to look back at what's changed, where you are now and what you'd like the next few months to look like.

You'll then be able to decide what feels like the right next step for you.

One final thought...

At the beginning of this page, I asked:

What if things don't have to stay the way they are?

I can't tell you exactly what will change for you through First Steps to Freedom.

Everyone arrives with a different story.

And everyone moves through this work in their own way.

But I can offer you a place to begin.

Six months of learning, noticing, experimenting, talking, connecting and taking one step at a time.

Not trying to change everything.

Simply discovering what begins to make a difference for you.

And perhaps, somewhere along the way, you'll notice yourself thinking:

“Something is changing.”

And from there...

“Perhaps I can do something about this.”

If you'd like to take those first steps with us, you're very welcome.
